If you’re anything like me, you might be a little crazy about organisation. I think it started with a need for control and now I just love it!
Here are five things i’ve found helpful in getting and staying organised.
1: Lists: My life seems to revolve around to-do lists but funnily enough, I really enjoy it. I like to have mapped out on paper what I need to do and not rely on my dodgy memory. If you’re looking for some cute ‘to-do’ list inspiration check out this KikkiK website.
2: Clean living areas: I find it so much easier to feel organised and on top of what is going on when the living areas are clean. That includes my bedroom! Having my bed made, the dishes in the dishwasher and the place swept makes me feel so much more calm!
3: Plan the night before: I am a huge advocator for planning the night before! Maybe it’s my need for control, but I love going to bed knowing what I have to do the next day.
4: Write it down: I have a terrible memory so maybe it’s just me. But if you tell me something, I can almost guarantee you I won’t remember it an hour later. I write down everything. I mean everything! (Even the names of people I’ve met and how to identify them.) Statistically you are more likely to remember something if you write it down.
5: Get enough sleep: There is nothing harder then being tired all day and trying to stay on top of what you have to do. I get cranky, frazzled and often sleep for hours during the day because I can’t cope with being so tired. Getting enough sleep is vital for feeling organised.
